Is it weird that I've been engaged since Sept and haven't tried on a single wedding dress?
I really have not tried on a dress or even gone into a bridal salon yet. I keep telling myself I'll start looking in August by which time I plan to have dropped 20 lbs. I just don't see the point in trying on a dress now when I hope to have a different body shape in 3 months. But it sounds like the first thing everyone else did was run out to the store!!

Its not weird!! I waited almost a year before I started seriously looking for a dress and a year before we started any planning!

Maybe I'll see you in the salon!!! Im feverishly at the gym every day hoping to lose some weight. But I had planned on looking for my dress and the BM dresses in August when my sister from florida comes to visit. Push comes to shove, I'd like to make my final decision by October.

I have been engaged since October and I havent looked yet either!!!
I want to lose some weight too. But I finally just made 2 appts for next week cause I gotta get myself going already! I figure they could always alter it - I plan on getting my moneys worth when it comes to that!

I was forced to go to RK by my MOH! I hate white, my wardrobe consists of black and denim. Argh, I only wear black pants..fine I admit it. I tried on Cinderella looking dresses and complained the entire time how I wanted to go Starbuck's and have a ciggarette. You have plenty of time, especially if you are losing weight!

I've been engaged since last April and have yet to try on a dress...I am kind of dreading it. I just don't feel like going yet, and all everyone talks about is the dress.

I haven't begun to look to look for a dress yet either; I can't shake the feeling that it's just too early to be looking for a dress! (I plan to start the great search in September). Yet everyone keeps asking 'So have you found your dress yet?' 'The wedding will be here before you know it!'

I've been engaged since July and have not tried on a single dress either! And it's not about loosing weight either...I basically have the same body I did 7 years ago at 17. I have just felt it was too soon till just about now. I want to start looking really soon. I kept saying this summer I would start....and now this summer is already here!

no, it's not weird people wait for different reasons. But you are right everyone seems obsessed with the dress issue and keeps asking when I'm gonna start looking. My deal is I keep changing my mind on what I see, and I am dreading trying on tons of gowns so I want to shop on line first.

Thank god it's not just me!! Everyone I know kept asking 'when are you going to go, what kind of dress do you want, etc etc etc. So annoying! I think me not going for a while was rebelling against all those people. I finally went for the first time 3 weeks ago because people freaked me out. It was fine, I think I found the one I want, but i haven't done a darn thing about it since then. I've just started tuning those people out.

i dont think its weird, i waited almost 2 years to start looking for a dress, but i will tell you that some designers take up to a year to make. i know mine will, so if you see a dress you like make sure its not one of those designers that takes up to a year to make

I've been engaged since Aug and I haven't either... a girl I work with got engaged 2 weeks ago and the next week went out and bought her dress.. nothing like rushing out and doing it!

Been engaged 7 months, have a year to go, and I think my mother is going to have a total breakdown if I don't do it soon. She can't understand why I am not at a new shop every weekend! I have little desire. I know I will be happy when i finally do it and get it, but right now, i think more over flowers, the ceremony, and music!
I feel like if I obsessed over my own appearance for a year and a half it will be unhealthy in alot of ways. IMO some brides end up not even looking like themselves on the day of because they have completely over primped, bought, accesorized, obsessed, for an entire year. I want to look like me!

I have been engaged since Nov. and I haven't tried on any dresses either. I am currently trying to lose weight (which seems to be going well), so I figured it is better to just wait and not get frustrated now.
