Is it wierd ..(registry question)

Is it wierd ..(registry question)

To register for individual pots rather than the whole set. I'm doing this for 2 reasons:

1. FH's grandma gave him her pots and pans which we still use when she sold her house. While I would rather throw them away when we buy a house, he insists they are still good.

2. If I get a set, I want stainless steel BUT they all come with stir fry/saute pans. When I saute meat, I prefer non-stick. So in a way, it's a bit more economical for us not to register for the whole set when I'll end up not using the stainless steel saute pans.

Be honest.. will it look wierd?

I don't think so at all..we registered for a set, but I also registered for like 4 or 5 single pans

Absolutely not. This is your dream list. When will you ever again get the opportunity to tell everyone exactly what 'you' want??? Why get the whole set only to have some taking up space and collecting dust?

I didn't register for a set - I registered for each pot individually. For two reasons - 1) I thought I had a better chance of getting the pots if I didn't register for a $500 set in one shot, and 2) I wanted to pick exactly what I wanted and none of the sets were exactly perfect. I say register for whatever you'd prefer!

it makes sense to register for individual items based on your concerns!

I think its fine. We registered for a set and a few others. We are going to throw out the ones we have now.

I registered for a set-but non stick because we already have a stainless set already. you can do whatever you want. if theres no need for the other pans than theres no need for a set

What about a set that includes both stainless and non-stick? I think Calphalon has one.

I don't think it is strange. I had a friend who did this because her all-clad pots were like a billion dollars and she didn't think any one person would buy her the entire set. I registered for a set but I have a few open stock items on there as well!!
