Is it worth it?

i didn't want to do hawaii either

we are doing bora bora/moorea.

It doesn't sound like you're in love with the idea of going there.

How does your FH feel about it?

I've never been, but I can tell you one thing - I wouldn't want to pay a lot of money for something I wasn't dying to do.

Hawaii isn't going anywhere...you could always go there for your anniversary or something.

ITA. FH and I both would LOVE to go to Hawaii at some point but not for our honeymoon. Like you said, it's very popular and I'm sure for good reason but that also gives me the impression that it will be very crowded or touristy.

Everyone that's been raves about it though but it's expensive so don't force yourself into loving the idea!

eta: I really want something more exotic like fiji but we will see how it fits in the budget

I think a plane ride to Hawaii is like 32819032 hours. That makes me NOT want to go there lol

Who cares what is 'popular' for a honeymoon....its your honeymoon so go where you wanna go.

Personally, i am probably going to Disney and then a caribean cruise!

i didnt go to hawaii. we didnt feel the urge or want to go...

instead we took a cruise thru the panama canal - one of the stops was costa rica!

go wherever you want to go!!!

go wherever you want we're gonna do Hawaii for like our 1 year ann or something. Bora Bora for the honeymoon.

Sometimes it's not for everyone!!!!! Fh and I are going on a grand panama canal cruise that stops in aruba, colombia, panama, costa rica and mexico if you are interested in that kinda thing.

I think Hawaii's nice (and they do have lots of surfing), but it's not completely above and beyond the other closer tropical places. Plus it's expensive and far away.

I'd HIGHLY recommend Panama. It's like Costa Rica (which is also fantastic), but less touristy. We went there last Christmas and *absolutely* loved it.

If you're not into it, then def don't go. FH & I wanted something completely different & once in a lifetime...we went to Fiji and it was the best decision ever. I've heard Costa Rica is great! I wouldn't go to Hawaii just b/c it's popular. I've had 3 of my best girlfriends go to Hawaii on their HMs & they all come back and say, 'it was nice, nothing spetacular'. I've never been so I don't really know, but I think you should set a budget then start researching places or talk to TAs

I have 2 friends that live in hawaii. One is a native ans the other a transplant. The transplant hates it so i dont wanna go lol. If im flying that far im going to japan.

Go to panama and visit Ant's family. They'll feed you lol

Don't go to Hawaii unless you are totally into the idea. It's your honeymoon, you need to be 100% excited. That being said, I have been to Oahu before and I was just blown away. I thought it was incredible, and Oahu is the most built up of all the islands and the least honeymoon-friendly. I would TOTALLY go back to Hawaii for my honeymoon, and island hop. I want to go visit Kauai and Maui.

My FH and I also REALLY want to go to Costa Rica. I heard it is amazingg there. However, they are in their rainy season for our honeymoon so I don't think it is going to happen.

There are so many options out there!

Hawaii is beautiful, and definitely worth the trip. Since it's farther than Costa Rica, and there are so many more areas to visit, I think it's perfect for your HM.

I'd recommend visiting Kauai, which was my favorite island, Maui and the Big Island. Oahu, which is where Honolulu and Waikiki are, is the main island, and not worth going unless you was high rises and the city.
