That I don't want kids in or at my wedding? I really didn't expect so many people to voice their shock and surprise. I have heard at least 5x in the last 3 days how others wish they had small children in their families so they could've had flower girls and ring bearers.
I've already compromised with FH letting him invite his nieces and nephews but I really don't want to compromise any more just to appease others. Is it really that wrong to not want kids in my wedding?

Not at all. Kids are extremely unpredictable, especially when everyone is staring at them while they walk down an aisle lol. Nothing wrong with not wanting it.

Nothing wrong with it! I had a huge disagreement with FH about kids under a certain age. But his family friends the ENTIRE family is invited and I lost that battle. So we invited one toddler and I really hope they decide not to bring him!

Not wrong at all! I'm not having any kids, either. When/if I get pushback, I plan on taking the angle of 'well I wanted parents to enjoy a nice night out!'.

I don't want young kids at my wedding. I am ok with having upper elementary age kids there though (there are probably 4 that fall into this age group).

Not at all. I have had similar responses from people and I think a bit of a 'raised eyebrow' type of response from my FH. I love kids but I just did not want to have to wrangle them down the aisle and for pics. My FH will have his newborn neohew and toddler niece in attendance at wedding. My 13 year old niece will be there and that's it. I offered my neohew an invite for his son and he said 'no thanks' because he wants to turn upband party without the responsibility, lol.

There's nothing wrong with that. I'm only inviting 2 kids (ring bearer and flower girl). No other kids under 16 are invited.

My daughter is 7, she'll be the youngest there. And I have a plan for what to do if she gets tired/wants to leave. In all, only 6 kids are invited. One is our daughter, three are Fh's siblings and the rest are out of town family. We've also been invited to weddings in the past with our daughter, and we've not taken her. We like to have a night out too! I've gotten A LOT of flack from family about this and other things I've decided to do or not do at MY wedding. Pretty much everyone else can go scratch, FH and I are fine with the decisions we've made. And since we're paying for this shindig, no one else's opinion really matters.

Im having 2 flowergirls and 1 ring bearer but I told the parents that I want them picked up by a babysitter after the cocktail hour (which thankfully they are fine with it) mainly because I want everyone to have fun during the reception but I am hearing that other people have a problem with my decision of no kids being invited while others are thinking of it as a night out

We aren't having any kids at our reception but FHs nieces who are our flower girls and nephew who is our ring bearer.

Absolutely not! My FH and I already discussed it that we did not want children at our event other than our ring bearer. Also I wanted those who have children to have a night to themselves. We notified our guests with children to allow them more than enough time to find a sitter for the wedding :)

Not at all. We are not having any kids at our wedding. The youngest person at the wedding will be 16-17 and that's not a kid at that point.

Definitely nothing wrong with it at all! We are having no kids at our wedding also, and all the parents seem to be glad that they can have a night out.
