Is it wrong if I...

Is it wrong if I...

Don't invite a couple who we invited to our eparty, and sent a save the date to?

Here's my back-story/reason why:

This couple got married right before our eparty invites went out. They are FH's uncle's wife's son from her first marriage and his wife. We were not invited to their wedding. eparty, shower, etc... So why does FH's mother feel the need to have us invite them??? Oh for our eparty they sent a coffee thermos as a present. We are however inviting this dudes sister and his husband because we see them regularly at family functions.

Usually I'd say, yeah it's wrong invite them, hopefully they'll say no anyway. But if these are people you hardly ever see, eff it, don't invite them! I give up on etiquette!

FMIL 'had' to invite a whole slew of stupid random people to my wedding so i totally understand the frustration.

if not inviting them would cause family drama, then just invite them and hope they don't come. If it wouldn't cause drama, then don't invite them

yes, you already invited them to everytihng else, sorry but if you feel this way you should have considered it before inviting them to everything else, it would be really rude of you to not invite them to the wedding imo

I think if you invited them to the eparty as well as sent a std then yeah, you gotta invite them.

you sorta have to invite them since your FMIL felt the need to invite them to the other functions. so thanks a lot FMIL.

Yeah I think you have to invite them. Especially b/c you already invited them to other functions AND you're inviting his sister.

Ditty the above on inviting them.

My ex-boss' daughter got engaged 4 years ago and when I worked for him, his wife who worked at the company as well, gave me an STD for the daughter's wedding. The wedding was set for November 2009 and I left the company in June 2009 for a higher paying job.

Didn't get a wedding invite and thought it was really rude!

In my opinion if you sent a 'STD' then you need to send an invitation...You asked them to SAVE THE DATE... That is the purpose of the card...

I would say invite them just to do the right thing. Hopefully they won't come!

I didn't invite someone that I sent a STD to...actually, I DID invite them, but the invitation got returned because apparently they had moved and hadn't bothered to provide me with a new address. That coupled with the fact that I hadn't talked to my friend in a long time AND the fact that he just got engaged to a girl that hates me...I didn't bother. Friendship over.
