Is it wrong to ask OOT guest/releative if they are coming to the wedding when RSVP date is two weeks away.

My cousin lives in Florida. She is married w/two children in their 20's. When FH& I got engaged she said she would definitely be at our wedding. A few weeks ago (before the invitations went out) she gave an indication that she may not be able to afford it, but she is still trying. We still haven't received her RSVP. At that time, I told her that I hope they can come and she should not worry about a gift, their presence is enough. I wanted her to be one of my readers. I was going to call her tonight and ask her if she knows if they are coming because I don't want to wait two more weeks to the RSVP date and find out she is not and then ask a reader so late. I want to take care of it this week. I sent her an email last week asking in a casual way if she knows her plans, but haven't heard back yet. FH thinks I should wait a week. What do you ladies think?

I think its fine to call her now- tell her you need to hand in your final plans to the church/officiant. I'm sure she won't mind- especially since she knows you had her in mind for the special job.

Your FH is right...wait a week or two. Maybe your cousin is looking for a cheap fare from FL. Usually, airfare price tend to go down 28 days before the actual flight. I understand its a bit frustrating (i can relate because FH has tons of relative in FL) but you need to be patient with them and try not to stress about it
