Is my mom wrong UPDATE 1

My mom is throwing me my shower...paying for 100%. She booked it back in september w/o telling anyone. She just bought the invitations...

She hasnt called FMIL yet. THey have never really gotten together and TALKED before. Invites havent gone out yet and she plans on calling her.

shower is april 5th

GO back a few weeks...FMIL comes up to me and says im gonna call ur mom about the shower...my mom comes back april 16th so after that....

But mom already booked it! FMIL found out and now wants to give me her own shower. i feel this is a disrespect to my mom

keep in mind she never called my mom either

i dont want to get in the middle. I DO NOT want another shower by FMIL....Her mom lives in barbados 1/2 the year. my solution would be to come back early.

ok they are oh the phone now agreeing on some things...saying i argree i dont know why they want that......oh boy...i wonder what they are talking about....

your the BRIDE YOUR mom wants to throe the shower she should not have to throw u another!! both sides of the family will attend the 1 shower! whats the big deal? she not throwing it for your FH its for you ithink its awesoem your mom is paying for it! Tell her your mom already took care of it but call her and see what you she can help with...........good luck

I would just let her know that you would not like 2 showers so if they could work out the 1st one to accommodate everyone, you would be much happier!

l would talk to your FMIL. It's really HER bad that she did not tell your Mom about her mother's timing on being in the area. I'm sure if your Mom would have known that she would have planned accordingly. If you don't want two showers ( I don't blame you) maybe FMIL could do her part NOW and try to arrange for her Mom to be in the area a few days earlier than she had planned.
