Casey chews on it all the time....and my DH doesn't want to spend the $ on Greenies. Are they really as bad as I have heard?

I don't know how bad rawhide is, but any time my beagle has had a rawhide bone, she ends up vomiting it back up.

Re: Is rawhide really THAT bad?
Gizmo has been eating Rawhide bones for almost 13 years now and no problems. Without them I would never have any 'alone time' with Ray They are the only thing that keeps him occupied! When we are not home I make sure I pick them all up off the florr. I am afraid of him choking, even though he never has before.

Bailey gets rawhide every so often.....there are 'rules'....
if little pieces break off, get rid of them if a wet chewed up piece is laying around, get rid of it....perfect environment for germies and bacteria
Other than that...they are ok for our dog, pig ears are good too

Jessie eats the rawhide too and we haven't had a problem (knock on wood)

Thanks guys I always hear that they are bad and can get 'built up' in the dog's stomach All I know is that the rawhide bones and the pig ears keep Casey occupied for at least an hour!
