Is Ryan the only child...

...who actually GAGGED on a Cheerio and spit up when he first tried one???

We couldn't believe it!! You would think most kids would try to suck on it, or chew it, but not my monster - he's got to try to swallow it whole!! And of course he gagged and spit up! Which for some reason just made Mommy laugh which did NOT make him feel any better!!!

Maybe it's still a little soon? Anyone else's baby a gavone who just wants to swallow everything??

no. Patrick did as well. I broke it up after that. It was easier on him.

Nope, Lyndsey did too. In fact, she THREW UP her entire lunch when she tried Cheerios. That taught me to give her them BEFORE eating...hee hee. It took a little while before she stopped gagging though. I used to break them in half at first, and I showed her how to chew them making a noise like 'nananana...' (hard to describe the sound ) She got the hang of it in no time!

Ask Anna about this one....she and I broke the Cheerios in pieces for ALOT longer than Paul and JA needed us to....we were just cautious about the gagging.

I still cut Paul's food smaller than is necessary, but I'd rather be safe than sorry!

How cute about Ryan! He was probably so excited that he got caught up in the moment, LOL.

Claud, Im with you on this one totally!
I broke up the Cheerios in 3s for a while. Now he shoves handfuls into his mouth

and I still cut up food into small pieces (and probably will for a LONG time )

Rather safe than sorry. I still cant get used to the fact that pretzels are a good snack. They are hard and dry, scares me. He still hasnt tried a pretzel, and we're still on Baby Goldfish (of course he does fine when someone shares 'regular' Goldfish with him... He eats lots of different things, all in little pieces... but I have to agree..

better safe than sorry
