My FH and I are close to booking the Sandals Grande St. Lucia resort, 7nights, but we are still on the fence b/c of the price ($6,000, with roundtrip airfare & taxes included, for the Penthouse Beachfront Honeymoon Suite).
Is it really worth it? I've seen reviews the past couple of days on other all-inclusive resorts in Mexico and some other places and now we are rethinking our possible choice.
Help please!! Thank You!!

Quite honestly - I thought it was quite expensive - but my husband and I had a wonderful time and loved every minute of it!

It is pricey - but it's worth every cent!
they treat you so well there and there is so much to do! not to mention - it's absolutely gorgeous!!!
We stayed at Couples--also all-inclusive, and it included excursions. It was a little cheaper, but people there who stayed at Sandals said they liked it much better. Just another option to look into.

Re: Is Sandals Really Worth The Expense??
DH and I have been there twice and we first stayed in a regular room (cheaper). When we went back they updraded us to a suite and that was great! We went to other Sandals too and they did the same thing. They have a great loyalty program. I loved Sandals. Worth every penny.

Re: Is Sandals Really Worth The Expense??
maybe you can just downgrade your room a bit - we are going to the Grande -St Lucia for 7 days and we are paying 4600 ----- we staying in an oceanfront room - not the lowest and not the highest ----
we priced the higher rooms and they made the whole trip almost a thousand more......
we are hoping that maybe when we go they will upgrade us - if not ------ all the rooms are nice i heard as long as you have an ocean view

Re: Is Sandals Really Worth The Expense??
While I have never been (it looks amazing) I tend to think there are other all-inclusives that can be just as amazing for half that price.
St lucia is an expensive island. It may be that just because it has the name 'sandals' attached to it, they can justify charging more than a privately owned little joint. You know?
The Mayan Riviera is gorgeous and there are many reputable all-inclusives that are way cheaper (flights to Cancun cost nothing compared to St Lucia)
Good luck with your choice!

We only went for 4 nights so we got the lowest room, I think its called Premium Deluxe or something. SInce the hotel is on a tip I think most of the rooms have oceanview. We were on the other side of the hotel, oceanview, but not the beach side.
We were close to the lobby and had an end room. I thought it was a really nice room for the being one of the lowest.

Re: Is Sandals Really Worth The Expense??
We were really close to booking the Sandals Grande in St. Lucia (the room with the plunge pool), but after pricing it, the trip seemed to be pretty expensive. We're going to stay at the Hilton in a room with a pool, and pay about half of what we would have paid in Sandals. Is it more expensive than other hotels? Probably. But from what everyone is saying...it could be worth it!

Re: Is Sandals Really Worth The Expense??
We went to St. Lucia and stayed at an all-inclusive resort called Rendezvous. It is not quite as fancy as Sandals, but we were extremely happy there. The staff was great and the room was nice. Plus, we only spent $3500 for 7 nights so we have money set aside for another trip.
