Honestly? I would not want someone who's supposed to be so organized that they are a 'day of' coordinator to realize after a contract's been signed that 'she's otherwise booked.' NEXT!

if you feel strange about something in your gut - don't ignore it. Better safe than sorry in this one...

It could be an honest mistake. I scheduled a hair and makeup trial with two very well respected vendors here. They FM'ed me a day later and said they forgot that they were in a wedding on my day. I was disappointed I wouldn't be working with them, but didn't think any less of them.

IMO, if you aren't comfortable with the associate, I don't think it is too late to cancel.
