I went to my first fitting about a month ago and the top part (I have a ballgown) was pretty tight- but I am told it's supposed to be snug. A friend of mine had hers looser and she was constantly afraid that her boobs were gonna pop out of it while dancing at the wedding!!!!
Anyone else have this issue w/ it being a little snug? I am hoping its just stiff from never being tried on before and it would loosen up during the night.

do u mean the material is stiff and thats why it feels snug? mine had tobe taken in a bit at the top so mine is snug, but not uncomfotably snug.

I totaly relate!! My dress is a strapless, lace up corset. I told my mom that if i can still breathe, then its not tight enough! Seriously when the girl at the bridal salon laces it up, i can't take a deep breath, but she said that it will loosen a bit as the day goes on, so you want to start tight. I hope i don't pass out!

They do fit your gown tight because they don't want it to get creasy and wrinkle but you are supposed to breathe. Was yours too tight?

My dress had to be taken in a bit on top, because it wasn't snug enough. I want it to be snug rather than loose, because, like you said....you don't want to be worried about your boobs spilling over.
but if it's too tight, you won't feel as comfortable....make sure you sit in your dress too to see how comfortable it is breathing

My gown had to also be taken in on the top- plus I had cups sewn in the chest area- mine was snug (I wanted it that way- even though I had sleeves it was illusion sleeves and I still felt like I had a strapless gown on). I didn't want to pop out during the day/night. Also if you have a corset back it does relax during the day as time goes on - so have them really tie you tight- I also told the woman that helped me dress that if it wasn't able to breathe completely that was fine with me.

Is your dress strapless? Cause if so, I believe most places do try to make them snug up top in order to keep everything in place, if you know what I mean!
I'm definitely more into something like that being tight up top, so I'm going to make sure they take it in as much as possible. If it feels uncomfortable to you right now, maybe ask them to let it out a little. But I'm sure as you're wearing it all day, it'll loosen up a bit.

At my last fitting my top was so tight that I couldn't breathe.. so they let it out.. then I lost weight right before the wedding and it was soooo loose on my wedding day that I felt that I had to keep pulling it up.. I would leave it as is... the stress alone will make you drop a few lbs right before the wedding
