Hi girls. How do you find out if a priest is ordained? We have a friend who is getting married and using a 'priest without a home'. Something like that. Anyway, she is concerned if he is legit or not. Is there any way we can find out?

I don't exactly know the rules, but if the ceremony doesn't take place in a church, it probably won't be recognized by the church. I'm sure it will still be legal according to state law, though.

I wanted to get married at the water. I am catholic. My fiance is also. I found out at my church that two cathloics can only get married at a church if they want it regonized. So needless to say we signed up for pre-canna at the church.

From what I understand, you can't get married at any church/chapel. The church needs to be ordained as well.
