Is there a certain way??

To stuff invites??? Or do you just shove everything in there, seal it up, slap a stamp on it and thank god that its finally in the mail... just wondering?

supposedly it's size order...the largest piece on bottom, second largest above that, and so on, so on....

I bet you could find it on google! My invite company actually sent directions explaining the order- but funny enough, it doesn't apply to my invites at all!

Depends on your invite..for pocketfolds, it was pretty easy....directions behind rsvp card, then the smaller card (Reception) in front of that....then close. In other invites, I believe the direction cards always go behind the RSVP card, and those get put inside the invitation.

dont know if this will help you, you kind of put it together in the order it looks correct, usually small to big, but thats up to you, I found this dont know if it will help you at all..............
There are dozens of ways you can put your invitations together, and, like most things when it comes to your wedding, what you decide to use is up to you. At least, you must order invitations and envelopes, but it's a rare bride who doesn't include a response card and envelope to make it very easy for the guests to RSVP.

Inside the Envelope:

_Invitation.
Of course, the most important piece of wedding stationery.
_Response card and envelope.
Provide a (stamped) envelope and a card that reads 'The favour of a reply is requested' and requires guests to check 'will attend' or 'regrets' boxes and fill in their names.
_Reception card.
This is only if you're not inviting everyone to the reception after the ceremony, or if if there's no room for the reception info in the main invitation, you can put it on a separate card.
_Map.
This helps your guests get from ceremony to reception. Very handy in big cities and for out-of-towners.
_Rain card.
This is a must for outdoor celebrations, it lets guests know the alternate site if the weather is not perfect.

Other Options:

Although these printed items aren't part of your invitation, you may want to order them at the same time of your invitations:
_Save-the-date letter.
These can be sent out even six months before the wedding so guests can make advance travel arrangements. These are often casual but can be printed in the same style as the rest of the stationery.
_Announcement.
If you can't invite everyone you want to celebrate with you at the wedding, these cards—usually the same style as the invite—are sent out to special friends about a day or two after the wedding takes place.
_Program.
Provides to your guests a detailed outline of what will happen during the ceremony in a little booklet.
_Table-assignment card.
These are placed on a table at the entrance of your reception to lead guests to their right table.
_Place card.
If you're assigning your guests to specific seats, cards at each place setting will let them spot their spots. If this is the case, a person will have to escort them to their seats or you must put a guest list at the entrance providing their place.
_Menu card.
You can put a menu card at each setting or three or four at each table (of course will have to follow the same design line). The guests can anticipate each course and take home a pretty memento.
_Thank-you note.
You'll need plenty of these, for both shower- and wedding-gift thank-yous, as well as for thanking any helpers. If order at the same time of the invitations and all the other stationery pieces, they can be the same style and design.

Re: Is there a certain way??

girls!
I know the proper way of stuffing invites is by size order...ending with the invitation as the last item they see.

But...my direction card would block half of the writing on the invitation, since the length is almost the same size as the invite.

Do you think it will look awkward if I put the direction card behind the invite and kept the RSVP card and envelope in front of the invite?

Any thoughts?

TIA!

Re: Invitation Stuffing

This is what I did. I had a direction card, 2 hotel accommodation cards, the response card and the invite.( I didn't have a reception card, my ceremony and reception are at the same place) I took the response card envelope and under the flap I put the response card, direction card, and hotel accommodations (they stuck out a bit, but oh well), Than I placed it behind the invite and put it in the envelope. This is what the lady showed me at the place I purchased my Invitations. This may sound confusing.

Edited for spelling.

Re: Invitation Stuffing

Ok, I understand. I may do that, because I want the invitation to be the first thing they see. Thank you!

I think that is totally fine. I put my direction cards behind the invitation. It looked so much better that way.

This is how I did mine
1. Invitation on bottom
2. Tissue Paper
3. Direction Card
4. Response Envelope
5. Response Card on top.

Put into inside Envelope, then put into outer envelope.

Mine came w/ directions.

Invitation.
Reception Card.
RSVP Card tucked under flap of response envelope.

I stuck the direction cards behind the invite b/c I made them myself and they're crooked! I figure they give a personal touch.

I like the first idea - just shove it all in there and be glad it's done
