Is there a correct way to...

stuff the envelopes? I've been searching and finding many different answers.

Also, does anyone have a reception card/rsvp card that fold? should I fold mine and keep the wording on the inside?

TIA..I'm totally confused!!!!!

lol i just had this conversation with my mom last night!
from what she said (she used to work for a printing company that sold invitations yearsss ago)...

when you open the envelope (the back is facing you) the first thing you should see is the response card & response envelope, followed by the reception card and direction card and the invite on bottom

But it really does not matter...i told her i wasnt doing mine that way bc my direction & accommodation cards dont match the invite so i dont want people to see them immediately so they will be behind the invite

I just stuffed mine and I put the invite in first then the accomodation and direction cards on top of it. then in the middle I put the RSVP postcard.

Oh and from my friends invites the folded card is folded with the writing facing out. I know this because her FH folded them all the wrong way! haha!

if your not doing a pocketfold invitations, but the normal ones, then the first thing your guests should see is the one thing you want back, which is the RSVP envelope. If your rsvps card can be folded, the empty flap should be tucked into the RSVP return envelope.
This is followed by the reception card, directions, if any and then the invite itself.
Hope this helps!

I think its all a matter of preference and dependant on your invite. Our invitation was just so pretty and had embellishments on the front. I wanted our invite to be the first thing people noticed and of course wanted to make sure it didnt ruin the other pieces. So ...

I did not do an inner envelope (wasteful personally). So guests opened the envelope and were greeted with our invitation. There was a satin belly band around it so when you held the invite you found all the inserts in the back. It was directions to church/venue on the bottom, then accomodation card, then the rsvp with envelope and then the reception card which was a double layer card.

I got SO many compliments on how well thought out it was. So go with your gut!
