::Update: So, I called my mothers doctor and he said that since I have CFS it lowers my levels to pre-mono, which means my immune system is lowered. He said if it gets worse I should come in for antibiotics.... and well, it has. It's now the entire right side of my lip!!
When I told fh that the doctor may give me valtrex he flipped and said 'You have herpes?' lmao. I had mr. Research research cold sores...what a good(but painful) laugh
So, this morning I woke up with THREE, count them, THREE cold sores in THREE separate parts of my lips. Is that even humanly possible?? And can they come out THAT fast? I went to bed at 2 and woke up at 9 with my lips the size of balloons!!
Has this ever happened to anyone? Anyone work for a doctor and can ask them? Both my docs are away this week..... and i just bought 3 abreevas haha...

ugh... that stinks!!! i'm just getting over a cold sore and they are really awful! i don't have any advice, just wanted to let you know i feel your pain!

Hey sweetie. I do not get them but I do know someone who broke up with cold sores all over her face!!!! It is possible to have a huge outbreak. I'd make an appointment with the Dr. ASAP. That way you can take an antibiotic and get rid of them. PS: You may be having these b/c you are under a ton of stress- are you stressed? My co-worker is the one who had them on her face. It only happened to her once and she was very stressed.

i'm definitely not a doctor, but something similar has happened to me (just two cold sores, but in two completely different spots)! they are sooooo annoying and painful! i hope they go away soon!

You're welcome. I would get an antibiotic. It would supress it. Isn't there also a balm you can put on it? I always see the commercial for it...

omg i hate cold sores. I havn't gotten them for a while, but when i doi usually get one and it gets swallon really bad. My doctor perscribed this good cream. If you want i'll get you the name of it when i get home. The creams you buy a the store never work for me.

If you go to your doctor they can prescribe you Valtrex which is used to treat herpes.
It will disappear in like 2-3 days once you take the valtrex and then you can take the medication anytime you feel a cold sore coming on!

I hate to play med student...but cold sores are actually a strain of herpes. Try looking up HSV1 versus HSV2 if you are interested. Just keep in mind that almost everyone has the virus (>80% in the USA), just some people never show signs (i.e., cold sores). Sorry, but HSV1 can be spread just like HSV2, so don't share lip gloss and keep contact to a minimum.
