I bought a book at Barnes and Noble called 'Your Perfect Wedding Planner' by Cathy Bouchard. It has lots and lots of checklists for every vendor. You can also write in dates that you want these items completed. This book also has monthly calendars and the week bofore calendar. For someone who lives by checklists (and as anally organized as I), this book is a godsend.
I would never thought of having extra pairs of black socks - what a great idea!

I just thought of a few that came to mind:
videographer-list of tables to interview. Also for video and photography give them all a list of special things you will be doing that evening (bouquet toss/anniversary dance, giving roses to moms at the church...)
For florist: decorating the guest book table and/or placecard table

label everthing you will drop off to the church/hall with wedding date, names, and time.........also include directions to where you want things placed ie: table cameras, 'we do ' letters, etc............
