My Fiance is Greek. I am Jewish therefore never baptized. Is there any Greek Church that will still perform the ceremony if only one person is Greek/Baptized. I am desperate for suggestions, if not I will have to sign up for Baptism classes. I still want a non-Greek traditional ceremony therefore we may be doing two ceremonies either way. I am beyond exhausted right now just thinking about this. LOL Thanks!!

I am not 100% positive but I believe that you have to be atleast baptized, not necessarily Greek Orthodox, but atleast baptized to be married in the Greek church.

FH is Catholic and he just has to show his baptism certificate. He is not converting or anyhting, which is not necessary, as long as he shows his baptizm certificate. I am Greek Orthodox.

I agree with the above post. I'm Greek Orthodox and FH is Catholic. We are getting married in a Greek Church. He doesnt have to be Orthodox but must show his baptismal certificate in order for the church to allow us to get married there. My cousins and uncles have married non-Greeks but they've always had to show baptismal papers. I'm not an expert but I dont believe you can get married in a Greek church if you're Jewish. HTH and Good luck!

You would have to convert to be baptised.
