is there something totally wrong with me? (a lil long)

yesterday i went shopping with my MOH and FSIL for the BM dresses. while we were in one of the shops the sales person asked me if i wanted to look for my dress too. i said no. both my MOH and FSIL thought it was weird.

so in the car on the way to the other store, we were talking about it and i explained i eally dont want to go for my dress and its like the last thing on my mind.

the idea of shopping for my dress makes me nauseous and if i really have to think about it.. i feel like i could at any moment.

no other aspect of the wedding makes me feel this way. only MY dress.

and its so not that i dont like clothes!!!

You still have a lot of time but donate get your dress last it takes 4-6 months for them to get it and then might need alterations which would take 2 Weeks .

its just nerves. I procrastinated too. It's probably because you know this is likely the one outfit in your life that has that much significance and you want it to be perfect. You have time...just don't wait toooo long

The most anxiety I felt before the wedding was when I first went shopping for my dress. And I pretty much had a 'Carrie Bradshaw' moment in my dress when it was getting fitted to me, I almost passed out.
I think the dress was the most 'real' part of planning the wedding for me because the dress is such a big deal to everyone ya know...it just makes everything seem so real!
So no, you're definitely not weird.

I felt this way too -- I hate the way I look in most everyday clothes and I was deathly afraid of looking terrible in every dress I tried on.

Here's my advice: Go to a small boutique where you won't have 30 people staring at you. Try on every kind of silouette-- even the ones you think you'll hate (you might be surprised!). Choose one or two that are flattering and then try on dozens of dresses in those silouettes. At the same time you'll also get a feel for color (white/ivory) , material, and the amount of detail you're drawn to. There are literally thousands of dresses out there in every style and price range! Happy Hunting!!!!!

i felt this way too! Even when I did the LiWeddings TV thing,, I was soooo scared!
I think it is totally normal! You will be ok, it's something new and takes time to get used to the words 'The Bride'

lmaoo. its so funny you said that. whenever i get asked 'whats the bride's name' and i have to stop and think about it.

we were in the first salon saturday, they asked 'who is the bride' and i didnt say anything. my FSIL, poked me and said 'ahem, its you' i stopped and went 'oh yeah'

i TOTALLY hear you on this one. I put it off as long as I could, 7-8 months really. Everytime my sister would say 'lets go dress shopping' my stomach would drop, I would feel sick, anxiety set in. I was totally fearing how I would look in dresses, if any would fit me, also standing there trying on dress' with size 2 girls fluttering all around me looking fabulous!

Well, let me tell you, dress shopping was an awesome experience. Lillettes was amazing, I worked with Christina and every time that I go back, I get excited!

Give it a try, Im not sure why you are nervous BUT they make you fell so comfortable, how sooo many different styles of dresses, sizes etc. and this is their profession, they deal with every type of bride on a daily basis. When you go, let them know what your concerns are and they will totally take care of you!

I suggest Lillettes in Baldwin, but hey, i found the gown of my dreams there, and found them to be totally amazing and helpful - guess im biased

Every bride is different. My sister's best day or her life was probably going dress shopping---excited, crying, emotional...Not me!

Don't stress...you'll just have to find a place that makes u feel comfortable.
