Is this a bad first dance song?

Is this a bad first dance song?

There is a song that has a whole lot of special meaning to both my FI and myself and we would really like to use it for our first dance. The only problem is whether or not it is really appropriate. It's the Enya song 'Only Time.' I was also concerned that it may be difficult to dance to and I don't know if it is a really 'timeless song.' It would be nice to pick a song that will still be appropriate and well-known 10 years from now (i.e. Frank Sinatra). What are your opinions?

I like the song but definitely dance to it and see if it works and is danceable. I know people want to pick timeless songs but I don't think that should be why you pick a song, you pick a song because it means something to your FH and you, do you know what I mean? Hope it all works out for you!

I agree with Stacedz, dance to it and see if it's danceable.

I don't think any song YOU like is a 'bad' song.

I think the lyrics are beautiful and if the song means somethng to you, go for it, you can find a way to alter your dance moves if needed. Best Wishes!

I think its a beautiful song but its going to be really hard to dance to it since there isn't a strong rhythm behind it. But definitely incorporate into your wedding someway (processional, recessional, entrance, cake cutting, etc...)

I think you should use it, especially if it has special meaning to you. We were actually torn between that song and one other...but we wound up choosing the other one because that one has meaning for us.

Thanks for your input everyone! We both really want to use it. I think I'll have to boogie with FH tonight to see if it works.
