Well, I discovered a new invite that might be a contender. I'm waiting on a sample of it.
Now, the only thing that makes me nervous- the response card and reception card are on one sheet. When the guests respond, they tear off the response card (it's preforated).
Is that cheap? Icky? Cheesy? Thing is, I'm not sure they send that part with the sample...even if it is nice paper, would you do this or no?
Here's the link so you can get a better look at it... TIA! link

You could always separate them yourself before mailing them to the guests.

I agree...it will be easier for the guest and less stress for you

That's what I would do. If you like the invitation, go for it, but seperate before hand so that people dont accidently send the reception info back with their response and then call you a 100 times asking for the information again.

Actually I think that separating them before hand is a great solution to your dilemma. I personally am not too fond of the perforated style invites, but if you separate before sending, that totally solves the problem.

You don't think the respond card and reception card would look bad separated first? Like cheap looking, you know what I mean? Cuz it does have that preforated, torn look....if I pre-tear it off, it might just look messy, no? If you look closer at the pic, you might see what I mean....

I agree with you that it would look messy... leave them together... it will look fine!

Thanks everyone- I really hope they include that in the sample when they send it to me. Only thing is, I don't think they come with envelopes. I'm guessing it's a postcard. Does anyone find that cheap/cheesy? basically I want it to be CLASSY!!
I fixed the link in my post above so you can get a better look at it- you can zoom in and see it, and get a description of the invite.
Tara, I like them! I don't think it'll be cheesy! Do what you like, either way its different to have the guests tear off their own responses!!

It might be a pain in the butt, but if that is the only thing holding you back you could always separate them and just cut the perforated edges off with a paper cutter or exacto knife.

I think they will be fine if you send them as they are, your guests will be able to tell that they are perforated (sp?) and to me that is not cheesy at all!!

I think they are awesome, honestly if I recieved the invite I would not think it was cheap at all. If you like them get them. If I would have seen them I would have used them. I think the perforated thing is kinda cool, different.

Here's the thing- I don't think it's cheesy at all. I think it's kinda cool- different. But it's the older crowd I think you will have a problem with. Grandma won't be able to figure out these new fangled things!
So if you are thinking of pulling them apart prior to mailing them out then I would suggest getting a cutting board from Michaels. I got one. I just slip the paper under the ruler and zip the cutter and smooth edge. You know like when you were in grade school and the teacher had that huge knife thing. They sell simillar items in Michaels. I did that to my invites bc I didn't want to fold them. I just wanted a card so I slit them in half.
I think they are beautiful.

I think its very pretty ....
But I would suggest maybe perforating the cards before you mail them.
Its probably done this way to make it easier for you to print .... so you can print 2 cards in one pass through the printer.
