Is this a bad way to book a photographer?

Is this a bad way to book a photographer?

So, I have probably looked at every photographer's website, almost booked a photographer and then couldn't, looked at every website again, e-mailed anyone I thought did good work, etc. etc. I have finally found who I think does the best work based upon their online galleries and additional slideshows they mailed me. I am not concerned with the albums, I'm only concerned with the service because I have another source of professional albums through FH's job. So, with that in mind....

If I go to meet the person I think does the best work, and I like him, am I crazy if I don't meet anyone else and just book him? I feel like you can get a feel for the quality of almost every photog's work online these days, and the only reason to meet is to see if personalities mesh. So, if my personality meshes with the 'best' photog (subjectively speaking), do you think I'm doing the right thing?

Thanks :)

I think it is absolutely fine, you did your research even though you didn't meet w/ all of them, if you feel comfoortable go for it.
Who is it by the way?

I did alot of research online, saw some ppl at bridal shows and looked at their albums there but i only met with one photographer. Once i saw the work i knew thats who i wanted and didn't feel the need to look anywhere else and never second guessed it. Go with your gut

We only met with one photographer. They also happened to shoot my brother's wedding, so I knew the service, pictures, etc. were all stellar. We loved the albums, too.

If you love them, go for it.

Honestly, I work way too much and had too much other stuff going on in my life to meet with 6 vendors before booking someone. I met with 1 florist, 1 invitation place, 1 photographer, 5 catering halls, 1 limo company, and a few bands. I did a ton of research online and made many phone calls before making appointments.

I just didn't have time to do it any other way.

I think it is fine. I only saw three photographers and once I sat down with the one I choose I loved him and knew Ihad to have him. If you click with him.her definitely go for it.

Yes, it's fine. I'm like you; I did a ton of research online and pretty much knew who I was booking before I met her. But remember - personality is a BIG factor. This person will be the only vendor who works with you before, during and after your wedding, and he/she will be there at your most personal moments - seeing your FH for the first time, getting ready in the morning... you want it to be someone whose personality meshes well with yours.

I think it's fine if you like they're pics and your personalities mesh. Sometimes people have trouble deciding based on just the photos and after meeting with the photographers they make their decision. If they don't work out, you can keep looking. Good luck!

i think you need to meet with the photographer. you need to get along with them and you need to look at their albums from start to finish. remember, photographers put their best pictures on their websites. so i strongly urge you to meet with the photographer
