My mom's cousin is a Catholic Bishop. He will be officiating at our wedding. He pulled a few strings for us so that we could get married on a Sunday (which IS allowed in the Catholic faith, but our church told us no at first)
He and his siblings are invited to the reception. He is also giving me a unity candle set because he gets MANY of them through th church.
As a gift, I want to give him a small, Thomas Kinkade reprint of 'The Aspen Chapel' that I bought from Avon. I intend to have it framed.
I know that when my cousin got married, she gave him a pair of gloves. At first, I wanted to give him a cross, but my mom said that when she got married, he gave her a cross as her wedding gift.
What do you think?

I definitely don't think it's a crummy gift. It's a very sweet gift.

It's a very nice gift.. you have to remember it's not the price of a gift but the thought behind it.. I think it's a good choice

Re: Is this a crummy gift?
I don't have to pay for the officiant because, technically, we're not using the 'church's officiant'. The church is within his ArchDiocese, so he has some pull. But, because he's a blood relative, he's not requesting a fee as an officiant would.
