I like the idea of giving my girls a 'goodie bag' full of all different things. Do you think its sort of self centered to give them a gift that i would like?
I mean, do you think it would be okay to give them something that I am intersted in. This way not only do they get a gift that they can remember me by, but it something they may have never bought for themselves. For example, I am into photography, and i saw these really great books with great images in them. I would like to know that they would bring it home and maybe browse through it whenever. And think of me when they read it you know?
Or should i stick with something universal? Should i go with jewelry?

you hope that they flip through it someday and think of you...
...honestly, if it were me and i really wasn't into photogrpahy much, i would stash the book somewhere and it may someday end up in the trash.
It's just my opinion, but you asked for opinions. I say go for jewelry or something THEY like...you're trying to thank THEM, not make them think of you.

How about since you're into photography either take a great shot of something each of them likes and frame it for them. Each girl would get a different pic specific to them OR a pic of the two of you together and frame it. That way they'll have a rememberence of you...but will also be somethng they'll display out somewhere rather than stash away
Honestly, I think a 'goody bag' with a variety of gifts is a great idea, but I personally would stick to things that your girls are interested in. JMO - I know that it's the thought that counts, but when getting someone a gift - especially a bm's gift, which is essentially a thank you gift - you should consider their likes and dislikes as opposed to what you like.
ETA - and you don't necessarily have to go with the 'typical' gifts (like jewelry)! Gift cards are always a nice and useful gift (I got my girls Sephora gc's as part of their gift)...a cute purse to match their dress...Bath and Body works always has nice lotion/shower sets....magazine subscriptions...a pretty frame to put a picture in after the wedding...there are tons of great options out there!

I did something similar.... I got them a necklace for the day of and a tote bag and a makeup bag and filled it up with different things. I think its a great idea!!

Not to be rude but I would prob give the book away. I would rather something I would use. Like the same thing as favors. Most favors go right in the trash. For you bridal party I would get something they can use!

it's a great idea. it's something like what i'm doing but my bag is a customized cosmetics bag.
