Sorry I know I already posted this under the 2013 board but figured I would ask here too. So I met with tommy tunes tonight and loved them! I have an appt to go back and possibly book tomorrow (fh wasn't with me tonight and I didn't want to book without him) problem is I haven't met with any other dj so idk if this is a good quote or not but I don't want to wait too long to book bc I don't want to miss out on the vocalist I love. The package is: Ceremony music 5 hr DJ and Mc 2- 50 inch plasmas with zap shots, live video simulcast and photo montage 2 illuminated truss towers All white equipment Custom monogram for dance floor Steel pan player for cocktail hr Guitarist/vocalist for dinner
The total came to $4,100 Is this a good deal?

Is this a good dj price?
I'm pay a lot less than that but we are having 4 hours DJ/MC (one person), no illuminated towers or all white equipment, and no vocalist for dinner. Since I'm not getting EXACTLY what you are getting, I'm not sure if it is a good quote or not, but I would look into other DJs just in case.

Re: Is this a good dj price?
I'm not getting all that much with my DJ but I would look around. I know that the DJ I'm using actually has all their pricing on their website. It can't hurt to check out other places first just to be sure you get the best deal. Here's the DJ I'm using and their website. Maybe you can price it out online to see how it compares and then meet with them. Once you meet with them they may even give you a deal. Some places will do that.
i'm not getting that much but I also went with tommy tunes after only meeting with them. i did get other prices over the phone though. it might not be a bad idea to do that. i think i have a coupon to take a few hundred off of a tommys tunes contract, i'm not sure if it specifically has my name on it or not, but if it doesn't you can have it! we got another discount with them that couldn't be combined with the coupon so i never used it. i'll check tonight.

I think this is reasonable considering the things included with your package, but I would still look around because there are so many vendors out there competing for your business.

I think it's a good price for all of that actually. We're paying a little more than that quote at my DJ and I thought it was worth it. We only went to one DJ and were totally ok with the price because we felt comfortable with them so if you feel a connection with Tommy's Tunes than I say book em and don't look around.

Just a warning about the 'zap shots'
Some photographers will say in their contract that you are not allowed to have anyone else professional taking photos- especially zap shots.
So just keep that in mind if it is part of a package as you may not be able to utilize it.

I was just at a wedding in the Hamptons with Tommy Tunes and I have to say I wasn't impressed. They weren't even set up when the guests arrived, they were honestly a bit of a mess. I wouldn't pay that price for them.

Re: Is this a good dj price?
Also regarding the Zap shots, my cousin had this at her wedding and I thought it was a total waste.
The guy took about 15 pictures and they just repeated the entire night. They did have a cute slideshow, but I thought that was a big waste of money.
I am getting zap shots but I am not paying for it. I am having it done through my photographer. You should look into other dj's I got a quote for way less but then again I don't need lighting and all of that it is already in my room the up lighting and led lighting and the tvs. I think you are getting ripped off.

I'm getting Zap shots through my photographer too. Which I thought was awesome because pictures from the church and stuff can be up there as well.
I would look around, like the others said. Who knows what else you can find.

I have heard that they have quite reasonable prices.
