Yeah, I agree. That's a decent price and there are DJs A LOT more expensive, but you can get the same exact package for a bit less with After hours. I booked with after hours and got an AMAZING price. It's really worth checking out!

The quote was from DJ Gaza. I haven't met him yet but he seems really laid back. I read a review on the review board that I liked.

I am using Variety Music and our package is alittle more but we are also getting zap photos so I think you can do better at price.
Also if they are saying that they are charging tax I would walk away since they are not allowed to charge tax.

I just looked over the email and he said he doesn't charge tax, I thought he just meant the tax was included, I didn't realize they can't charge tax.
I don't really want zap shots and my venue already has screens. I just want a DJ who can do a bit of MCing without being loud and obnoxious.

I don't think that's the best price. Are you having musicians for ceremony and CH, or just the DJ. That would change my response.
We're using FM and we're paying only a few hundred more for a 2 man team, all white lighted sound system, 'intelligent' lighting and uplighting. (ETA: We are not having them do ceremony and CH music)
Are you getting any uplighting or plasmas with that?

Yes but shop around. I got my DJ and Photographer as a package deal and paid only 2700 for Ceremony, Cocktail Hour, Reception, 2 photographers (10 hours), DJ & MC combo, mics for the ceremony standard lights, setup, break down, ect. They are friends of mine but their packages are around there anyway!

I have a separate lighting guy that works at my venue, I just need someone to show up with an amp and good music. But again, nobody loud and obnoxious and someone who can be very eclectic without loosing the crowd

I'd shop around if I were you. I mentioned After Hours earlier, but there are a few other, popular companies that will save you 300-500.
