Is this a joke???

Is this a joke???

Okay so I know I said I was leaving...but...OMG.

FH just handed me FSIL's wedding invitation that came yesterday (we forgot to take in the mail haha)...I open it up, notice that is plain and boring, blah blah blah...I get to the response card and envelope....THERE IS NO STAMP ON THE RESPONSE CARD ENVELOPE!!!!!! As if this weren't bad enough, the envelope is addressed to FSIL & FBIL in GERMANY!!!!!!!!

For a person who goes on and on about how we're 'breaching etiquette' by getting married 2 months after her (and I looked it up in Emily Post's wedding etiquette book and she's fckn full of it)...she is a REPEAT offender of ACTUAL etiquette breaches!!!!!!

I told FH to let her know by email that he and FSD will be attending (or how about on Facebook??? )...and I've decided to give them the same courtesy when we send our invitations out...jerks!!!

Holy Crap!!!! I cant believe she expects you to pay for postage to GERMANY!!!! I would defiantley RSVP by e-mail. The nerve!!!!!!

i'd still rather have people RSVP by e-mail.

anyone who doesn't know how to use a computer, i don't want at my wedding anyways LOL.

but... i will listen to the rules and put fu*king stamps on the G.D. envelopes.

shame on her. its one thing to break the rules. i mean, whatever they're made to be broken right? but dont be all preachy about them if you're gonna break 'em.

I think its fine for him to respond via email, phone due to it being in Germany..

However, DONT GIVE HER ANY AMMO!!!! I wouldn't retaliate. I would send her one with ONE stamp on it like everyone else got. I wouldn't cater to her bc she is in Germany but I would follow normal procedure so she can't throw it in your face.

this is JMO. I know you have had MANY issues with her. I just think taking the high road sometimes with people like this makes all the difference and puts you above them.

Honestly this is probably what we'll do...if only because I don't want to take the time to think about it either way (to put more postage on or leave it off). But she can definitely pay for her own extra postage...and god help her if she ever brings up a 'breach of etiquette' to me again!

sorry to be bringing in a different point of view, but as u all know half of my guest list is OOC (out of country) ppl. I will not be putting postage on the RSVPs as I have no way to do it being that each country has its own postage rules and stamps. its completely impossible to get postage being in a different country for returning mail back into this country.
all domestic guests obviously will get RSVPs with postage on them

sorry, I know u have problems with ur FSIL, but I dont see this as against etiquette. sometimes it is really impossible to follow those rules no matter how much u want to.

im sorry but i do have to agree here... i had quite a few out of country guests and the people at the post office actually told me not to put stamps on their rsvp envelopes.

i do want to point out that your fsil does sound like a complete b*tch though lol.

I was thinking of that. Where is she??? Here or in Germany now? Where is the wedding?

I totally agree with Regy because I am having guests from England and Jamaica, and I won't be able to get stamps from their countries for the rsvp envelopes. I think its fine for you to RSVP by email.

Same here. We have guests coming from England and Ireland and we're not putting postage on their response cards.
