I ordered my dress a while back (I think Early February) and paid an extra RUSH charge. I just called over today to see when my dress would be in and the girl said mid-July (probably 3 weeks before the wedding) I told her this seems to be cutting it VERY close... she said its fine. I dunnoooooo... I am getting a bit nervous about that! Does this sound normal? And what did I pay the rush fee for!?? Maybe this is normal and should not worry? I am also thinking to make my appt now... since I can only get there Saturdays!

Re: Is this a normal time frame to get a dress?
I think average time for stores to get dresses in is 6 months and you were right around that time so I think it makes sense you paid to rush the order.
I would call and ask them about the appointment policy -- since the dress is not in yet they may not let you make the appointment... but either way I would call them for the expected date of delivery (they should know this or be able to call for it!) and ask to make an appointment for that Saturday and see what they say --- it can't hurt!!

Dresses can take a while to get in (some designers I've heard were 12 to 15 months). But if you paid a rush charge then it should be in way before 3 weeks (IMO).

Thanks girls.. yea. I had to jog my memory and go over it with my Mom and we definitely remember the saleswoman saying if we DID NOT get it rush... then it would be in July (which she felt was too close to the wedding date).. so we paid to have it here in June.. Just called again, and she is calling the manufacturer... oyyyy.. not cool Also, I am having the neckline/top modified! Instantly stressed now!
