Re: is this a problem?
It depends how the dress is and how she will carry her preg. some people gain in certain areas and some do not......
what color are your dresses??? Maybe you can ask your bridal shop to order some extra fabric so you can alter if needed...
i know this may become stressful, but it will be fine and the good part is she is having a baby.....
good luck!!!

Re: is this a problem?
They usually add a panel of fabric to each side of the dress. Altering it slightly to fit. Don't worry it happens all the time. She will look beautiful.

Re: is this a problem?
One of my BMs is thinking of getting preg. soon so we asked about this when ordering our BM dresses. The lady at the dress shop told us that they would be able to somehow pull up the bottom of the waist to give her more room in the tummy if necessary. she also ordered the dress as little bigger than normal. It wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure that the seamstresses have seen this happen many times! Best of luck to your BM with her pregnancy1

One of my girls will be 9 months prego at my wedding!!!!!
We ordered extra material so that they can add extra panels. She will be fitted very close to the wedding.

She'll be fine. An empire waist dress should be the easiest dress to alter I would think.

Don't worry, it'll all work out!! A professional seamstress shouldn't have a problem.

Re: is this a problem?
Empire waist means the seam is high on the chest end. I went this way with my dresses since my MOH may get pregnant before the wedding as well. My MOH ordered her dress 2 sizes larger due to this reason and can always have it taken in.
If they are already in - see what the store can do for you and the BM - if they are just ordered, ask the store to increase the size by 2 or 3 and I think you'll be fine.
Hope this helps Christine!
