So, I have been thinking about this as our wedding approaches, as well as resuming of my crazy and hectic trial schedule at work (summer is lovely in the courts, quieter than usual, but you pay for it in September!!!) Our wedding is November 18, and I know that you can apply for a marriage license up to 60 days prior to the wedding. So, with this in mind, FH and I were thinking about getting our marriage license at the end of September (this way, when we keep having to cancel on each other due to work (his schedule is crazy and opposite mine!), we have plenty of time to get it! I didn't want to wait until November, because we will be going insane and I know something will go wrong (like having a last minute emergency trial at the end of the day, or one of FH's clients losing their internet!) Am I overthinking this?

i'm thinking of getting the license as soon as we can too! so, no, I don't think you are over thinking this! And, you might as well get it done early just in case, like you said, your schedules conflict and you have to keep rescheduling! good luck!

Yes go the earlier the better. FH and I would hav gone earlier too, but my BC just got back with my passport Monday.

I went and got it this Monday - wedding is on October 13th. It only took 15 minutes to get. We spent most of the time getting to and from the place in downtown Manhattan.
I would definitely take care of it as soon as possible just to check it off the list. Go for it!

DO it! We got ours at about the 60 day mark since it worked best for our schedules!!!

We got ours a T - 57 days. We were both slow at work, so we got the license and went in a little late.

I say do it. In NJ we can only go the month before-its only good for 30 days so we had to cut it closer than I was comfy with but it turned out fine. We still haven't picked it up though! Fawking office only open Mondays until 4pm when dh and I are both ahem WORKING along with most people
