We plan on booking honeymoon soon. With us leaving kennedy on a Monday (aug 2) and returning from bahamas on a Saturday (aug 7th) on jetblue roundtrip direct airfare is $762. Is that a good deal or wait until we see it cheaper? I never seem to know when the rates will go down. Looking for a ballpark figure of what a good price should be.

$762 for each person? I go to the Bahamas often and you can get a much better deal for each person than that. I would wait and keep looking at their prices for deals or for it to go down. Good luck!

have you tried Expedia? I found roundtrip non-stop out of Newark for $311 pp. HTH

keeping looking...try looking late at night...like 1/2 am prices drop at that time..esp tues nights

where did you get that quote? i find that expiedia and orbitz and all of those sites are more expensive then if you go directly to the ailing website... did you get that quote from jetblue.com...?

When it comes to airfare, so much of it is relative to the dates you are traveling. The start of August is still considered peak in the vacation industry.
We are spending nearly $2k on airfare alone to PR but it's the best deal we can get because of the dates we are traveling and the time restrictions we have. I've seen airfare for like $99 each way but it didn't apply for us.

Be careful with the Bahamas in August, I am sure you know it is hurrican season. I chanced it for my 23rd birthday and we had amazing weather. Just make sure you do take insurance out.
As for flights, Try Kayak.com... Setup alerts. They will email you when they have good deals. I do not think Jetblue is one of the airlines they deal with but i do know that i was having a really hard time finding flights to come home for my wedding, and it sent me an alert that american airlines was having a sale.
