People say that you should expect about 20% of your invited guests not to come to the wedding. Have you found that this is pretty much accurate?

Re: Is this an accurate estimate?
Yep!!! That's what they say and i've found it to be accurate in 15 years of planning business events etc. For me, it will be higher since a) my wedding's the day after t-giving AND b) we have a pretty high % of invitees out of the country. So we'll send out about 100 invites (figure that's 150 people), and I plan on SEATING about 100 on the day!

they say that, yes. it was true in my case, but we had a lot of out of country people that I know wouldn't be coming. OUr return rate for people that actually live in America was about 90% so be careful... don't go inviting everyone and their mother... they may just come!

My RH told me 18%.... Now why they couldn't just round or pick a nice number, i dunno, but the guy swore by it lol Of course different situations will cause the average to move around like the other ladies with many out of country guests or even just many OOT guests.

The people who I thought would possibly come...are coming. The people who I knew wouldn't...aren't. I'd guess 20% (but just because a lg 3 of them were 'polite' invites).
