Is this classless?

What is the proper etiquette on this one:

I was invited to a wedding (not the one my ex is attending.... Another one...) The bride told me the colors are silver and gold. I don't know what she means by that - so take it at face value.

I happened to find a great dress in - of all the colors - gold... not Beyone gold lame - rather a soft muted color.

Is it ok to wear a color, as a guest, that may make me look like I'm part of the bridal party? Probably not right?

yeah that s what I figured! too bad it looked great - (FH called it a Jessica Rabbit dress) I was going to get it for that term alone!!!
