im having my eparty on may 7th, dinner, drinks & dancing in a private room at a restaurant
i reallly realllly want floral centerpieces- there will only be 8 tables
is it crazy to spend 250 on flowers for an Eparty?
I looked around for other ideas, like candles, glass hurricanes and candelabras and while they are all pretty, i feel like i have my heart set on the flowers...
buttt i dont want to go broke on an eparty either!
so far its costing us 2500 for the food/restaurant
invites were only 40 dollars
my mom and aunt are buying favors and some other decor
250 for cupcakes
crazy???

Re: Is this crazy??
it's not crazy, but it is a lot ... if i were you, i'd use that $250 towards the wedding fund ....
we had balloons at our e-party ... like 5 per table. they were simple but nice (and most importantly, cheap lol).
on the other hand, if you can afford it, then flowers are the best

If you can afford it then its not crazy, but I would put it toward the wedding. Not sure what kind of centerpieces you were looking into, but I know one of my moms coworkers bought inexpensive vases, tied a nice ribbon around it and then went to Costco and bought roses in bulk and made centerpieces herself.

I don;t think it's crazy and not too much money but can you possible get vases from Michaels with a coupon and then purchase flowers wholesale somewhere? I know Costoc and Sam's has great flower selections..reasonably priced. My mom made centerpieces with flowers from Stop and Shop and they came out great!

Buy potted plants! Sooooooo much cheaper and people will love that they get to take them home and plant them!

thanks girls...
i priced out DIY from sams club and costco...but believe it or not it will be more expensive- for what i want
i feel like im being a spoiled brat...and wish I'd just get over this flower idea i have in my head!!!
i saw pretty hurricane vases, set of 3 with tall pillar candle at christmas tree shop for 14.99! so pretty...
but my heart is still on the flowers...
FH is no help, hes like if you really want it and think its worth it then get it

I honestly don't think $250 for flower centerpieces is that crazy at all. I would do it if that is what I really wanted.

My e-party was very informal - in a nice restaurant's private room, but it was just a dinner/dessert - no dancing. I printed 5x7 photos of me and FH and put one on each table of four with white and pink rose petals scattered throughout the table. I also made menus and used tiffany blue favor boxes to decorate the tables. if the restaurant itself is really pretty then you might not even need flowers. not sure how formal yours is, but mine was only 45 people in a restaurant, so i might not be the best example.

Re: Is this crazy??
i dont think it's a crazy idea... if funds aren't an issue for you, then i suggest you go all out, but if funds ARE an issue for you, then i think the better would be better spent at the wedding vs a eparty.
it's all up to you in the end. good luck deciding!
