Is this fair, should I be upset?

Is this fair, should I be upset?

When I got engaged my mom said that my Aunt wanted to throw me my shower - I thought, WOW that is really nice of her (she also threw another relative's shower). Now I heard that she was planning to throw it in Conneticut where she lives (1 1/2 hours away from LI) - my mom and I thought NO WAY! I didn't think it was fair for everyone. I told my mom that I didn't want that and now I don't think she is going to throw it for me anymore because we would have to rent a place here. I am a little upset and feel bad for my mom, am I wrong?

Can you speak to your aunt and explain the situation? Maybe she can help your mom plan a shower at a venue more convenient.

Don't feel bad. I am sure your mom has your best interest at heart and would throw you something anyway. She probably wants to surprise you.

Good luck

I don't know if this would help, but its not unheard of to have 2 showers with two groups of people. Family can go to your aunt's shower and then maybe friends can throw you another one. This way, no hurt feelings...Just an idea. Hope it works out for you.

Usually when someone throws a shower,it is somewhere convenient for the bride and her friends and family. Why would your Aunt have it all the way in Connecticut when she is the only one who lives there? I think someone should talk to her.

I agree with all the other posts. I think someone should talk to your aunt and explain that it should more convenient for the bride, not for her.

Maybe your mom can have it at her house, but your aunt can host it?

That is not fair- unless most of the guests are in CT. Do you have a bridal party- are they planning anything.
