We're doing a donation favor ... each table gets to adopt a different animal from the World Wildlife Fund. On top of each table, we're planning on putting the picture of the animal along with the adoption certificate. Then on top of each person's plate will be a scroll that says something on the lines of 'thanks for coming, you adopted this animal'.
So we were thinking about table numbers vs. table names and think names are a slightly better idea (then there's no competition among our families about who's at table 1 vs table 2 lol). Is it cute or lame if our table names are the names of the adopted animals?
Tell me the truth, i can take it ... i'm torn about the situation anyway so i won't be offended

I love the idea of that... im just confused as to how the table is adopting an animal... i think people will be very confused by it....

i think its a cute idea... but not sure if it will fall into the theme of your wedding... or if by naming your tables after animals itll confuse people into thinking there IS some sort of animal theme that there isnt... only because it seems you are making a big deal about the favor your giving... its a really cute way to do a donation favor, but i mean most people dont name their tables after their favors, you know? just food for thought

haha, totally true ... maybe it'll be a combined numbers on a backdrop of the picture of the animal (let the families fight ... whatever) ... something on the lines of this:

I think it's cute, though I can see guests maybe wanting an actual favor or if you a donation favor make it for like a charity everyone knows. I can see some people thinking 'I'm adopting an animal' and not really getting it.

thats what I was thinking... cause usually that is like a monthly committment... i would be confused... maybe you can say we adopted these animals in your name, or on your behalf... not saying that they adopted them

Well, it's the World Wildlife Fund so it's a known enough charity I just hope they don't have that 'huh?!' moment. But ultimately, if they don't get it, screw 'em! i think it's cute!

What if you named the tables after what kind of animal it is? I know you said after the name of the animal... did you mean they gave the animals names? If you have all different animals (fox, bear, etc.) Could you use those names?
I think whatever you do will be unique and creative!!!! What a great idea!
