Is this normal???

Is this normal???

I know that there are a lot of posts about RSVP's but tomorrow is our RSVP date and we still have 165 people that have not responded We decided to give everyone a week 'grace period' before we start harassing people but does this seem like a lot? We invite 395 so it's a little less than half that we haven't heard from. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

TIA

That's a lot but you will be surprised how many you receive the week after. I had a few people send their response card in 3 weeks after the deadline

Unfortunately this is all too familiar to almost all of us...I would give it about 8-9 days and then start calling due to Labor Day and school starting, etc. (People are so rude!!!! Especially people that have planned weddings before...they should know better !!!!!!!!!!!!) You have my sympathies....

I didnt send mine out yet.. but, if I dont get the responses. I AM NOT calling anyone. People can be so rude, and I will damned that if in addition to everything else I have to do, will I CALL THEM. absolutely not. You cant respond - then dont come.

Re: Is this normal???

Thanks girls for the reassurance. Lots of people have been verbally telling us, my parents and FIL's if they are coming or not but I am standing firm on my decision that without an RSVP, then you get NO SEAT!!!!!
Even my sister's boyfriend who is a groomsman says to me - 'I filled it out and t's on my steps' and I'm like 'well I hope you have a nice staircase b/c that's where you will be sitting for the wedding Even the best man hasnt sent his b/c he is undecided about who he is bringing as a guest Of course I know he will be there but I really need to RSVP's to stay organized, I mean really, people can't expect me to keep track of 350 people off the top of my head!!!!!

Re: Is this normal???

That's not a lot.. I was waiting for over 100 cards back out of 220 invites on my RSVP date.. I gave 1 more week and they poured in that week.. I ended up having to call about 20 people.. I'd say it's pretty normal.. I HATE when people do this.. People don't realize that the bride and groom are under enough stress and they already have a billion things to do.. Who really has time and patience to sit there calling all those lazy people

WOW THATS A LOT BUT GIVE THEM ANOTHER WEEK AND THEN START MAKING PHONE CALLS. DID YOU HAVE ODDD SHAPED INVITES THAT MAY HAVE BEEN DIFFICULT TO BE DELIVERED?

I am in the same position. We invited about 350 and are still missing a good 75-80 RSVPs and our deadline is next Monday (Sept 8th).

I can't believe your deadline has passed and you're missing over 100! It really is shocking to see just how inconsiderate people are
