Never looked at houses so I don't know. But I would find another realtor. This guy sounds like he's pressuring you and you dont need that when youre making such a big decision.

Honestly, I had my Dad read them b/c part of what he does is in that business. And he said that they do NOT need to be signed until we are ready to make an offer.

I used to sell real estate- I never had anyone sign anything before they put an offer in. The only thing I ever asked was if they had a pre-approval from a mortgage company so I knew exactly what they could afford
He probably is a buyers agent as apposed to a sellers agent (which I was). A buyers agent works in the best interest of the buyer and sellers agent in the best interest in the seller. Not many RE agents are buyers agents though.
I found an article on what a buyers agent does which can explain more in depth. HTH
find a different realtor.. I think we looked at 20 houses or even more before we finally agreed on one

find another realtor - a lot of them want to pressure you to sign papers and commit so that they can collect a commission..Don't do this..take as much time as you need and don't let them pressure you.

NOOOO, it's his job to show you houses and it's not wasting his time. It's very unprofessional of him to say that. FH and I have been looking at places for a while now and our realtor never once got annoyed because we didn't like a place he showed us; he would just ask why we don't like it and use that when he looked for the next place to show us.

Personally, i feel that it doesn't matter if you've looked at 2 houses or 222, if you don't find something that you like, why would you go for it? Anyone who makes you feel uncomfortable is not worth working with in my opinion. I know he's a friend of your father but it seems like even your father isn't comfortable with the situation. You can let him know nicely that you don't want to 'waste' anymore of his time and just use another realtor.
On a related note, I found out that Joe from Camelot Limos is also a realtor and he is a great person. Unfortunately since I'm not from here I don't know anyone else to recommend. Although if you want I can ask my parents the name of the person who helped them sell their house. let me know.

What he is doing is against nys real estate law. I work in the industry I would suggest finding a new broker.
