if we end our wedding with 'my way' by Frank Sinatra, FH and I have done this whole wedding totally on our own, with no support. I thought it was fitting, but now he thinks it may be rude! What do you think?

I think that only you guys will know the true meaning to the song! Ending your night with a Frank song is not uncommen! Go for it!

Honestly, I don't think your guests will make the connection. The song starts 'And now, the end is near....' It's been the last song at many weddings I've been to, and I've never thought, oh this must be because the bride and groom paid for the whole thing and so they did it their way. Maybe it's just me, I don't really think people will be looking for a deeper meaning though.

Whether or not the guests get it isn't the measure of it being rude. In my opinion, I think its sad to be ending your night on such a bitter note. Its kind of like you are saying screw you to the people around you whether or not they know it -- at a time you should just be happy.
If it was just a song you loved, I'd say go for it. Its the fact that you want it so you can think 'Ha ha' to the non-supporters that bothers me.

I think you should do it if you want to. I'm sure no one would realize why you chose the song. But, I do agree with what Valenia said. I totally understand how you feel about paying for the whole thing, but how will you feel when they play the song? If you'll be happy then go for it, but if it makes you feel bitter or resentful then I would pick a different song. You should be in a happy mood all day!

It your wedding, and you are allowed to do it your way. If you both agree that this is the song to end your night, go ahead.
