If both parents are paying and his are divorced:

BRIDE'S PARENTS
request the honour of your company
at the marriage of their daughter
BRIDE'S FIRST MIDDLE NAME
to
GROOM'S FIRST MIDDLE NAME
son of
GROOM'S PARENTS
on DAY, the FORMAL DATE of MONTH
YEAR
at FORMAL TIME o'clock in the TIME OF DAY
LOCATION
ADDRESS
CITY, PROVINCE
Reception to follow
at FORMAL TIME o'clock in the TIME OF DAY
LOCATION
ADDRESS
CITY, PROVINCE

I think that wording makes it sound like only the Bride's parents are paying.

Well both our parents are divorced & fh are both remarried ( mine isnt) .. IMO , i could care less whos' paying for the wedding, I went as traditional as I could considering the situation, as we are not orphans & its nice to include both parents names, who cares whos paying, , again thats just my opinion.

Ms. Barbara *** and Mr. Salvatore ***
request the honor of your presence to the marriage of their daughter

Toni Marie
to
Michael John Jr.

Son of Mr. Michael ***Sr. & Mrs. Theresa ****

Re: Is this ok?

how about this got this from some site:

Mr. and Mrs. James Walker
and
Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Jones
request the honour of your presence
at the marriage of (you could add 'their children')
Cheryl Rae Walker
to
Timothy Earle Jones
etc.

Agreed. The people who are paying come BEFORE the names of the couple getting married. If you think it's too many sets of parents to print, you could always write 'together with their parents, Bride and Groom request the honour of your presence....'.

This one works but it makes it sound like his parents are still married.

I agree with the wording sounding like only your parents are paying.
My FIL's names will not be on the invite for that reason.

How about having both sets of parents names first?

TOGETHER BRIDES PARENTS
AND GROOMS PARENTS
Request...etc.

HTH

I dont think I can put his parent's names together since they're divorced. Any other ideas?

This is the one we are using. Even though we are paying for the wedding ourselves, we still wanted to honor our parents.

I think tonimike's wording is best for divorced.

But if both are paying..why not just put.

Together with our parents...

I like that idea. I'll probably word mine that way.

Re: Is this ok?

I have the same exact situation, and my samples just came in like a week or 2 ago. I had asked the lady that did my invites and this is what she said. 'As far as wording the invitation, traditional invitation ettiquette does not include the groom's parents. That was because the bride's parents were paying for the wedding and thus the invitation is sent by them. Today alot of couples are choosing to include the groom's parents on the invitation. This is not because of whose paying for the wedding, but because a wedding is about a joining of a couple and their families. '

This is what I ended up using:

Mr. & Mrs. Theodore John *********
Request the Honour of your Presence
at the marraige of their daughter
Anne-Marie Kristin
to Joseph *******
Son of
Ms. Joanne**** & Mr. Michael ****** (both have different last names)
Sunday the Twenty Second of April
Two Thousand and Seven

etc.....

HTH!!
