we have a very large guest list and we are inviting ppl with a guest if they are coming by themselves or wont really know anyone else at the wedding... for people who are invited with their families, we are not sending a separate invitation to them plus guest... we figured that when we get all our rsvps and see what the numbers are, we would call certain people and verbally tell them that if they want, they can bring a guest... that's ok right, if we just call them and say they can bring someone?

This wouldn't bother me personally, but people always frown upon it. I think that even if they are family or know half the people attending, if they are engaged or married, they should be invited with a guest.

im not talking about engaged or married couples, they are obviously invited with their significant other... im talking about ppl who arent engaged
