I have no father, am an only child, and I am not close to my uncles so we obviously won't be doing the father/daughter dance.
FH's mother cannot walk without her walker, and that is only for a few feet, otherwise she uses a wheelchair. She also is very embarassed about her inability to walk and doesn't like to be the center of attention because of it.
Would it be ok if we didn't do the mother/son dance either? Would that be considered weird?

Your Day - Your Way
As AZ said - have a song played for her while she sits & present her with a small bo-k ??

I don't think so!! Maybe you can just have a special song dedicated to her instead!

Re: Is this okay?
Sure, why risk embarrassing your FMIL? I doubt many people will even realize you didn't do those dances....

Re: Is this okay?
my parents are deceased and my fh is not doing the fh/fmil dance out of respect for my feelings. it is not weird at all. everyone has different circumstances and your guests should respect that.

Re: Is this okay?
Your day, your way - exactly.
Anyone close enough to you to be invited to the wedding will understand your circumstances, and anyone rude enough to question it is not worth your time or energy.
Do what feels right.

Not weird at all. I am not doing the bo-k toss or garter toss and I don't care what people think.

Cool Thanks. We are not doing the garter or bo-k toss either. Funny that we are having a traditional wedding without all the traditions. LOL!

Absolutely ok, I like that phrase, your day, your way. If you want to add something traditional, maybe the anniversary dance so everyone can join in.

Do what is going to make your day happy. I think the idea of dedicating a song to FMIL and presenting her with flowers is a beautiful sentiment

THeres nothing wrong with that at all. There are no rules about what you can and cant do at your wedding.
