On Christmas Eve I had said something about me & FH going out on our wedding date in 08 to celebrate being one year away from our wedding and both of my FBIL's made this huge scene about how stupid and gay it was and how the one who just got engaged would never do that if his fiance wanted to because it's just sooooooo dumb. It really annoyed me and I felt bad for FH because he was excited to go out too and I feel like his brothers made him feel dumb about it. Is that really such a dumb thing to do?!?!? People really s u c k sometimes

i dont think its dumb at all. its actually really cute, in my opinion. i mean youre going to be celebrating that day every year from the wedding on so why not start a year early!

so not dumb!!! his brothers are dumb and the one whos engaged if his fiance wanted to go out to celebrate you know he would! boys just like to bust on other boys specially brother. If you and your FH was excited about going out then i say go! who cares what other people think anyway

Awww, don't let them get to you! I think its a great idea. FH and I went out to dinner on our 2 year 'pre-anniversary' too. The boys were just being boys...they don't get it. Why do they care anyway?!

Seriously, when FH and me first started dating we were talking about our first date (which is 8/13) and his sister (whom I can't stand!!!) started making fun of us for remembering the date. She said she remembered the general time she started dating her boyfriend, but not the actual date..because that's so stupid to remember that.
P.S. FH and me are still together :)

Not dumb and certainly not 'gay' (I hate when people use that to describe something they dont like)! We plan on having a big Halloween party in 08 as a year away type of thing.

i think it's ADORABLE... and we are excited to do it actually!! like a YAAY it's a year awy thing.. we may go somewhere OVER NIGHT.. we aren't sure yet... or we may go out for a romantic din din I don't think time spent with a loved one can ever be 'dumb' or criticized!

we celebrated! we went out to dinner on our 1 year mark! FH even sent me a gift at work - it was a huge fortune cookie and inside was a fortune that said something that he is so glad he found someone to spend the rest of his life with and that he cant wait to marry me next year, he got me a present and he gave me an anniversary card and wrote to my Future Wife in it......i dont think its 'gay' at all!

I think it is a really cute and romantic idea... FBILs are just jealous and I am sure TRYING to be macho....well your FH is a real man because I think when guys can really be romantic and loving that is a REAL man!!!
