I don't want kids at my wedding, however I have a few teenage cousins that I want to invite. They're older and I know they'll behave appropriately. One family with two teenagers also has a four year old. He was invited to my sister's wedding and he was a pain in the butt all night long. Running around, crying, trying to touch the cake. Is it going to be wrong to invite the teenagers and not the four year old? He's really bad! Think the parents will enjoy a night off from their pain or be offended that their angel isn't invited?

Re: Is this really wrong?
address the invite to 'Mr. and Mrs Smith' instead of 'The Smith family'

Ok IN MYYYYY OPINION! No your not wrong...ppl have to understand that you do not want a child crying at ur wedding they find the best moments to throw a tantrum. The only children that are INVITED PERIOD to my wedding and reception are my nephews and my niece and they are VERY WELL BEHAVED and I do not have to worry about them acting up.
Just put an age limit on who ur invited. Plus the parents should be happy to have a night out. And I'm pretty sure they go out and they get a babysitter so this shouldnt be any different

Good, thanks. I just feel like you pay waaaaay too much money for something to go wrong. Sure, things might go wrong that weren't planned but knowing that one part of your wedding is going to be a disaster and still going ahead with it is a bad choice! (If that made sense!)

My thing is...it's your day! And u should have what you want. People arent fully able to enjoy themselves when they bring little children...trust me I experienced bringing a little one to a wedding and reception and we had to pass the baby around to dance and everything ...

Re: Is this really wrong?
One of my other cousins with two small kids already told me she's looking forward to a 'date night' without the girls! Already looking forward to it and it's over two years away! I guess you have to take what you can when you're a mom!

Re: Is this really wrong?
i am DEFINTLEY not having children at my wedding....i really cant stand children at a wedding and I have a kid lol.....she will be the only 1 there because she'll be a flowergirl, but thats it. i feel a wedding is an adult affair and not a place for children. all the kids do is run around and become annoying and tired by the end of the night anyway. so i think you can put adult reception on your invitation to make it clear. thats what i plan on doing, and some people in FH family are already complianing about the no kid things and i told them thats fine if they dont want to come just because of that...saves me money

Your not wrong I am having kids 10 and over except 3, 1 is my flower girl the other is my cousin and FH loves him and the other would be the RB, which will be 4 and we still don't know if his parents want him there. Some parents are greatful for having a night out and if they are upset they have to respect your wishes.

Re: Is this really wrong?
I am doing the whole no kids as well. We agreed that the only children at our wedding were going to be the bridal party which consists of nieces, nephews, and cousins. I like the 'Adult reception to follow'

Re: Is this really wrong?
It's your wedding and you don't have to explain any reason why you didn't invite some and not the others.
