is this rude?

we got an invitation (to a casual wedding) after other people got theirs. It was addresses Mr 'FH' Full name & Jen.

Not only at the fact that I know others got it first, but '& Jen' not even jennifer. It's a childhood friend of FH & his sister, ask her my full name.

She'll be married come our e-party, so I felt like sending her an inviation (using her maden name, & Tim.

Was this addressed on the outer envelope or inner? Do these people know your last name? It is weird that they would mix up two different address styles. If it was on the outer envelope, they should have made an effort to get your last name. We had a couple of situations where we didn't know the last name of someone's girlfriend (this was only with DH's colleagues), so we addressed to outer envelope with only the colleague's full name and the inner envelope with 'John and Mary.' But these people are not engaged nor do they live together. It sounds like laziness to me.

I HATE THIS!!! Before I was married I would get this ALL the time. It made me cringe!

Absolutley rude!
I hate when people do this. Make a simple phone call, find out your last name.
Casual or not, it's disrespectful IMO.

At least they knew your first name! JT's cousin sent us an invitation to her wedding and it was to James Timother and Fiance! UM, HELLO! I KNOW YOU! Some people are stupid. As for getting the invite after, I wouldn't worry. Everyone knows how hard it is to include everyone. Maybe there were obligatory invites that needed to go out first, and they knew you and FH would want to come.

Don't stoop to do something you think is rude. Some people just don't think. We sent several things that were downright wrong because MIL didn't bother to check the information before giving us the address list. That was embarrassing!

I don't know if it is necessarily rude as much as it is LAZY! If you don't know the information pick up a phone!!!!!

IMO, with regard to your e-party invitation I would not stoop to her level.

Re: is this rude?

She is my FH very good friend, they are all close in age and grew up together. FH sister asked me about a week before I got my invitation, if I was invited. I said no, and about a week later we got out invite. No inner envelop, just addressed on outside, and single card, directions (printed on plain white paper) and response post card.

She easily could have called the sister or even my FH parents for number. We were both in FSIL wedding party, so she knows me.

I couldn't be ruse back, not my style so I addressed it correctly.

At least I am ok feeling it was rude.

Re: is this rude?

The same happened to me...

My Fh's cousin is getting married and they sent the invite to Mr. Eric (I don't want to print last name)...and Joanna!

His first cousin! It really irked me that they could not call his father and find out my last name. We have been together for 4 years! Come on now! Pure laziness!

totally rude. I dont care how casual an event it is, take a little pride in your own wedding and make a few calls for info so you dont insult your guests. They could have found out your last name with one call. Sloppy and rude IMO
