We really want to do a donation to either ASPCA or the Guide Dog Foundation. I'd like to leave a cookie shaped like a dog bone on each place setting as a little extra token in addition to the donation card.
Am I stoopid to think we could make them? My mom is an excellent baker and my sis is an amateur pastry decorator...I'm not liking the idea of spending about $4 per cookie if I get them from a bakery

i wouldnt spend $4 on that either so give it a shot with a few test cookies, cant hurt

yeah i think certain cookies will work better than others. are you gonna do just a basic sugar cookie or?

i think it's do-able ... but that's something you have to do a day or two before the wedding and you'll probably be VERY busy then with other wedding things ...
i wouldn't get myself involved in a baking project ... it's too time consuming.

try it.. if you can't get the cookies right what about chocolate? they sell dog bone molds...
you can take cookie crumbs and line the mold then pour in the chocolate and it'll look like a dog bone
