Is this strange

we are going to our jacka nd jill shower at FIL's house in PA on saturday. My FMIL did not ask my FH who he wanted invited, and she did not invite any of his friends from home. He does not see his friends often because we live far away. But my FMIL invited her work friends that my FH has never met - my FMIL definetly thinks this wedding is about them and not us, which is very different from my parents who cut close friends off their list so i could invite people from my work to the wedding.
