FH and I made a donation to St. Jude's in lieu of favors. When my parents found out (very old school) they didn't understand the idea. They are still stuck on the idea that guests look to take stuff home. So they offered to pay for favors which we said OK to. I wanted to put a sign at the favor table that says In addition to favors, we also made a contribution to St. Jude's... Is that stupid????

I would do it on the favor tag as a little note but my brother and his wife just did that for their wedding in August and I don't need anyone saying I copied them.

I don't think they would think that you were copying them. I've been to so many weddings where this was done. I think it's a great idea.

I think a sign is nice or a tag which ever you want. I'm sure your brother would understand.

That's not copying them. My daughter got the stickers from St. Jude's and she is putting them on each favor.

That's not a silly idea at all and no one will think you're copying them! I think a sign would be very nice.

I like the idea of the sign and cards at each place setting. I think when my cousin got married there was something like that on everyone's place setting. BTW, I know all about old school Italians. My parents are like that as well!

Thanks ladies. I think I'm going to make up a sign stating that in addition to the favors, we made a donation to a charity that is close to our hearts, and display it along with the favors.
