It looks like we may fall a bit short on our guarantee of guests to the hall. There were people I wanted to invite, but did not b/c we were panicking that we were going overboard. I have no invitations left to send ou9t. Would it be horrible to get a pack from Staples and do them myself to mail out? Also, if this is o.k., does anyone have any suggestions on how to do them? I am not good with the computer when it comes to things like that, basically limited to word. Would it be o.k. to do them in word and have them printed off at Staples? Any suggestions would be great !!

Provided that none of your B list guests know what the original invites looked like - they will never be wise to the reprint.
Its really simple to do at home. Just buy the invites, set MS WORD margins to match the dimensions of the paper and print.

What did your invitations look like? Would ones you do on your own resemble the originals? I don't think I could have done it because my invites were very different. IMO it isn't tacky but just remember not to put an invitation out by the placecards or anything (I know some people but their invite out on display at the reception).

Re: Is this tacky?
When my friend was having her engagement party, we made invitations using Word and they came out wonderful!! (I was very proud of myself actually) We used paper from OfficeMax that came on an 81/2 x 11 sheet, but down the middle was a perferation so that two were on one card. So each invite was like a 5x7. We used Word for it... if you find this paper, I can send you the template we used for her invitations, (I still have it on my home comp.) You can get rid of what we wrote and put in your own words to keep the alignment correct... Then all you have to do is feed it through the printer and you have invites! The paper we bought came with the envelopes too... Let me know if I can help any other way

It's not tacky as long as the invitations don't look like they're second hand and the people don't know! What they don't know won't hurt them!

Re: Is this tacky?
I was just informed that I am getting an invitation to a wedding that is going to be December 7th. Obviously I am a B list person. I did not get the invitation in the mail yet, but I will let you know if it looked like the original or not. I am sure the RSVP date has already passed or is coming up very soon.

No offense to those who have done it, but I don't think it is a good idea. I would be offended if I got an invitation to a wedding just because other people couldn't go. They may not find out, but it is a little obvious since you are getting married in December. It is just my opinion, but I wouldn't do it.

It really depends on how much time is between when they get the invite and when the wedding is. Also, I would not suggest doing this with anyone who would have to do any traveling.
