I really didn't want to spend a lot on invitations, but now I'm beginning to wonder if I was being too cheap. Our invites came out to be around $1.60 per invite from Birchcraft. i am ok with my choice. Wasn't my first choice for invites, but like I said I had to compromise somewhere. Anyone else buy cheap invitations?

IMO I don't think that's cheap at all! Then again maybe it depends on how many you were buying. Our invitations were less than that and everyone LOVES them.
The only that thing matters is that you are happy with your decision/

As I've been told many times by people, 'they only get thrown out anyway - don't spend a lot'. I wanted to get really nice invites until many many people told me they threw out my Engagement party invites that I designed myself and took many hours making, so now I'm going for functionality only for the wedding invites. HTH.

I haven't bought my invites yet, but I've been looking around and pricing them. I plan to get 150 invitations (printed in color which is extra), with reception card and RSVP card (and envelopes of course), and I've priced them at around $350 or so. That comes out to a little less than $2.50/invite. I may be able to find them for cheaper.
The invites aren't totally plain, nor are they overly fancy (no pocketfolds or bows either), so if you got yours for $1.60 and you're happy with them, it sounds good to me.

I actually got birchcraft at 40%, but thank you though. I kept searching through websites. It came out for 175 invitations with lined envelopes, and response cards. I just started to feel a little weird cause i just found out that my cousin (who is getting married a few months before me) spent over $1200 (and that's wholesale) for the same amount of invites. Thank you ladies for your input.

I see a lot of people on here also go to costco.com and get great prices on really nice invites.

1200 is a lot of money... i dont think that is nearly the average an average person would spend on invites

I wish I was crafty.. because I've seen so many gorgeous invites that girls have made themselves. My invites came to $7.36 each... I kinda feel like that was a lot.. but I really loved them.. and FH did too. They were supposed to be more.. but we got 30% off .. so atleast I saved a little
